ROAR!
i got my full name on FB! (:
anyway,
studying today gave me new insights to why people say you'll gain weight when you go the colder countries :p
weight distribution affects thermoregulation :p
in other word, individuals with more subcutaneous fats lose heat at a slower rate. so that's why they say fats keep you warm.. hmmm
den again,
as a thermoreceptor's purpose iz to regulate body temperature..
when it gets cold, the heat-gain mechanism iz turned on! and that includes shivering (which iz due to an increase in muscle tone), and non-shivering mechanisms to vasoconstrict the blood vessels to conserve energy! and non-shivering mechanisms include the release of hormones to increase metabolism(in the liver and muscles). which breaks down body stores of glycogen which means losing weight!
woots! i'm so going to immune myself to cold and not turn the heater on! i can lose weight by feeling cold.
WOW.
but first,
i need to stop eating.
stop putting back all that used up glycogen..
i'm so using my blog as a studying tool 8)
